To
Uriah Flowers This indenture made the first Monday in May in the year
of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & Eight & in the thirty second year of
the Independence of the United States of America between Thomas Godbold Sheriff
of Marion District in the State aforesaid of the one part and Uriah Flowers,
Esquire of North Carolina of the other part. Whereas Neill McEachin became
lawfully seized in his desmesne as of fee and possession of and in a certain
Tract of land containing two hundred acres more or Less Situate in the District
and State aforesaid Between Buck Swamp and Little Pee Dee and Whereas the said
Neill McEuchin became lawfully indebted to the admnors (sic) of John Chisholm the
sum of Twenty four dollars and seventy three cents which remained unpaid for
recovery - - - of the said Admors of John Chisholm in the Court of Common Please
before the associate judges of the Said Court in Marion District for the State
aforesaid did obtain judgment against the said Neill McEachin for the Sum of
Twenty four Dollars and Seventythree cents it being the condition of the above
debt and also the Sum of twenty Dollars & Two 1/2 cents for his damages and cost
in prosecuting his Suit in that Behalf in pursuance of which judgement there
issued out of the aforesaid Court a writ of Fieri Facias directed to all and
Singular the Sheriff of the Said State commanding them and every of them without
delay that of the goods and chattels houses lands and other hereditaments & Real
Estates of the said Neill McEachin there should be levied the sum of Twenty four
Dollars and seventy three cents as also the sum of twenty Dollars & 2 ½ cents
for the damages which they hath sustained by Reason of the detention of the
Said debt by Virtue of and in obediance to the said writ of Fieri Facia he the
said Thomas Godbold Sheriff as aforesaid did enter in and take into execution
the tract of land above mentioned and after seizure thereof and the same being
duly advertised at Marion Court House & other places for public sale by the said
Thomas Godbold Sheriff aforesaid did on the day above mentioned for and in
Satisfaction of the aforesaid Judgment & writ of Fieri Facias and the incidental
cost and charges due thereon Sell & dispose of the above nemtioned land to the
Said Uriah Flowers for the Sum of thirty-five dollars he at that price being
the highest and best bidder for the same^^^^. Now this indenture witnesseth
that the said Thomas Godbold Sheriff aforesaid for and in consideration of
the aforesaid sum of thirty five dollars to him paid by the said Uriah Flowers
before the Sealing and delivery hereof the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have Granted Bargained & Sold and by these presents doth Grant Bargain & Sell
unto the Said Uriah Flowers the Tract of Land above mentioned to have and to hold
the said land together with the buildings heriditaments Rights members &
appertanances hereto respectively belonging or in anywise appertaining with
the Rents issued & profits thereof unto the said Uriah Flowers his heirs
& assigns forever In witness thereof the said Thomas Godbold Sheriff aforesaid
has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. Thos Godbold

Marion District} Hugh G. Godbold came before me and made oath that he saw
the within named Thomas Godbold Sign Seal and deliver the within instrument of
writing to Uriah Flowers for the use & purpose therin Mentioned & that
Charles F Godbold a subscribing witness to the same with himself Hugh Godbold^^
