U.D.C. Gives Program
On Robert E. Lee
The Anne Fulmore Harllee Chapter, U.D.C. met in the
city hall Friday afternoon. the meeting was presided
over by the Vice Presidence Mrs. A.V. Bethea as the
President Mrs. Cottingham, and a committee from the
Chapter were attending the funeral of
Noah Sweat, a
91 year old Confederate veteran.
After a full business session, Mrs. Joe P Lane pre-
sented a splendid program on Robert E Lee. A
prayer, "The Undying Spirit of Lee's "letter to Lord
Acton from : Lee's the Soul of Honor," written by
John E Hobeika of Dillon.
"Dixie" was sung by the chapter, and this concluded
the program.
A social half-hour was enjoyed during which re-
freshments were served by the following hostesses
Mesdames F.L. Bethea, J.A. Ward, L. Cottingham,
and A.J. Evans, and Miss Minnie Hyatt.
