Married by the Rev. Mr. Irvin, Mr Robert Poxly to Miss Lucy Jane, daughter
of Mr. Edward and Mrs. Adeline Pye, all of Sabine County, Texas (ibid.)
Married on the 26th inst., by Rev. E. Hays, Mr. Saml Weatherford to Miss
Mary Wise, all of this District (Jan 31, 1854).
Married on Thursday, the 2d inst., by Rev. S. J. Bethea, Capt. D. W.

Married on the 12th inst., by Rev. R. P. Franks, Mr. Robert Z. HARLLEE to
Miss Susan, daughter of Rev. T. M. MUNNERLYN, all of Marion District (Apr
18, 1854).
Died on the 9th of May inst., after a short illness, Mary, daughter of Dr.
J. R. and Mrs. Sarah E. McQueen, aged three years, eleven months and four
days (May 16, 1854).
Died on the 3d inst., at his residence, in the 85th year of his age, John
BAKER, and on the 6th inst., at the same place, in the 68th year of her
age, Mrs. Susannah Davis, both truly esteemed by their acquantances for
their many virtues and moral worth. The deceased were brother and sister
(ibid.)
Died on the 22d April last, of pneumonia, Robert Manning, son of W. and
Sarah Manning, aged about 18 years (ibid.)
Married in Wilmington, NC., on Thursday afternoon last, at the Catholic
Church, by Rev. Mur. Murphy, Mr. Benj. F. Richwood of Conwayboro, SC, to
Miss Esther M. Bowers, of the former place (May 23, 1854).
Married in Tippah County, MS, on the 26th day of April, Col. James
Gillespie Hamer to Miss T. E. Matthews, daughter of ex-Governor Matthews
of Mississippi (ibid.)
Died at Carolina Female College, on Wednesday morning, 17th inst., Miss
Carolina, daughter of Capt.John L. McLaurin of Red Bluff, Marlboro
District, SC. (ibid.)
Married on the 24th inst., by the Rev. R. P. Franks, Mr. James R. Moody to
Mrs. Mary Brooks, all of Marion District (May 30, 1854).
Died in this District, on the 24th inst., at the residence of her son,
Charles Taylor, in about the 90th year of her age, Mrs. Mary TAYLOR, in
the full triumph of Gospel faith, ..(signed) Hugh Moody (ibid.)
Died at his residence on Britton's Neck, on the 28th ult., after a
protracted illness of five weeks, Mr. Virdeman MARLOW, aged about 70
years, he was a native of Georgia, but for the last forty-five years has
been a citizen of Marion District. Darlington Flag and Pee Dee Times will
please copy (June 13, 1854).
Married on the 1st of June, 1854, by the Rev. James H. Stone, Dr. W. M.
Davis to Miss Mary B. Belin, both of Marion District, SC. (ibid.)
Died at Brownsville, SC, on Wednesday evening, the 21st inst., Henry C.
Emanuel, son of Col. H. C. Emanuel, aged seven years and eight months.
The subject of this obituary has left behind him a kind father and
affectionate mother, with many relations...(June 27, 1854).
Married on the 27th July, by the Rev. D. S. Edwards, Mr. William Collins
to Miss Rosanna Powell, all of this District. (Aug 1, 1854)
Married on the 27th ultimo, by Rev. Hugh Moody, Mr. Johnson Rogers to Miss
S. Moody (ibid.)
Married also at the same time and place, by the same, Mr. Cade Rogers to
Miss Mary Taylor, all of this District. (ibid.)
Died in Wilkes county, GA, on the 26th of September last, Mrs. Mary
Little, in the 62nd year of her age. The deceased was a native of Wilkes,
and in that and Taliaferro county most of her life was passed; she had
been for thirty years a zealous and consistent member of the Baptist
Church ... (Oct 24, 1854).
Died in this District, on the 3d inst., in the 21st year of her age, Mrs.
Lucinda Taylor, wife of Joseph C. Taylor, and daughter of Wm D. Roberts.
She leaves an affectionate husband and little daughter to mourn her loss.
She had been a member of the M. E. Church about four years ... (Oct 31,
1854).
Married on Tuesay, 31st Oct, by Rev. Joel Allen, Mr. Wm H. Hays to Miss
Elizabith, eldest daughter of Maj. Jesse FORD, all of Marion District.
(Nov 21, 1854).
Departed this life on Buck Swamp in this district, in the 27th year of her
age, Mrs. Helen Smith, consort of W. H. Smith, the deceased was brought
up by pious parents, joined the M. E. Church ... has left an affectionate
husband and two little daughters (ibid.)
Reedy Creek, Marion District, SC, Died of apoplexy, on the 14th November,
Mrs. Mary Ellen, consort of David Ellen, in the 52d year of her age ...
attached herself to the M. E. Church when but a child ... Mrs. Ellen has
left a husband and eight children ... (Dec. 5, 1854).
Married on the 10th inst., by the Rev. B. A. Jackson, Mr. Thomas Graham,
to Miss Mariah Passmore, all of the same District (Dec 26, 1854).
Married on the 8th inst., by Rev. Hugh Moody, Mr. John Lee, to Miss Sarah
Rogers, all of this District. (ibid.)
