January 13, 1875

Married on Dec. 31, Mr. Edward M. FORE to Miss Eaggie E., eldest daughter of Charles HASELDEN, all of Marion, S.C.

January 20, 1875

Died 11th inst., Mrs. Francis B. KENNEDY.

Died 5th inst., Miss Mary E. FORE, aged 16 years.

Died 16th inst., Mrs. Henry ALFORD.

January 27, 1875

Died Dec. 26, 1874, Mrs. Ally Matilda RICHARDSON, consort of Hamilton RICHARDSON, at age 30. Leaves husband and two small children.

February 3, 1875

Hon. John T. GREEN died in Sumter on 27th ult.

Married Jan. 26, John H. MORRISON of Robeson Co., N.C. to Miss Pattie BRADDY of Marion, S.C.

Married Jan. 25, Mr. S. Lawrence PAGE of Marion, SC. to Miss Ella Harllee MOORE, daughter of Capt. Willis P. MOORE of Robeson Co., NC.

Died Dec. 3, 1874 at Union Springs, Ala., D. B. McSWEEN, aged 50 years. Daniel Boone McSween was born in Robeson Co., N. C., the son of Daniel and Mary McSWEEN, both of Scotland and died when D.B. was 12 years old, leaving two sisters and a small brother. D.B. never married. [lengthy obit]

February 10, 1875

William POWELL died in Wahee last Friday.

Mrs. Lue GREGG, wife of Mr. Smiley A. GREGG, and daughter of the late Samuel McCOWN, died on Feb. 7.

Capt. D. W. BETHEA of Marion Co., married on 4th inst. to Miss Carrie BRTJNSON of Darlington Co.

[obit] Mrs. R. J. COLEMAN, wife of E. A. COLEMAN, died Jan. 17, 1875, aged 52 years. Leaves husband and two children.

February 17, 1875

Married Feb. 5, Mr. B. F. ELVINGTON of Marion Co. to Miss Sallie GRANTHAM of Robeson Co., N.C.

Married Feb. 3, Mr. F. H. WAYS to Miss Lucie ROGERS. Both of Marion.

February 24, 1875

Child of Jupiter NEWTON, colored, died last week at Conwayboro.

March 3, 1875

Married - Mr. Dempsey LEWIS to Miss Eliza Jane STACKHOUSE. Died Feb. 25, Mrs. W. P. DUBOSE

Died in Bennettsville, S.C., Mrs. Martha NEWTON, wife of H. H. NEWTON and daughter of A. G. JOHNSON. Aged 24 years.

March 10, 1875

Mr. Geo. C. MYERS died near Rocky Point, NC last Monday. He was a prominent merchant of Wilmington.

Married on 7th of March, William CARMICHAEL to Miss C. J. McINIS.

March 17, 1875

Mr. S. F. BRADSHAW died last Monday.

Married Feb. 23 in Darlington, Nick KELLY (White) to Miss Ellen SWINTON (colored).

Married on 9th inst., John K. BLACKMAN to Miss Millie CRIBS, daughter of John CRIBB. Both of Marion Co.

Married March 4, Rev. C. A. STILES to Mrs. Cecilia N. LEAY. Both of Richland Co., S.C.

March 24, 1875

Infant son of Mr. D. S. PRICE died last Monday.

Married March 17, Nathan HAYS to Miss Amy ANDERSON.

Married March 18, Mr. D. M. CARMICHAEL to Miss Mollie R. ALFORD.

March 31, 1875

Mrs. Mary Emma Henning wife of Jesse THORNTON, died at Fair Bluff on March 24, aged 26 years.

David DICKSON of Georgia died March 16.

Married Jan. 28 in Guadelupe Co., Texas, Charles S. HARLLEE to Miss Mackall B. JONES.

Married on March 18, Curtis ROGERS to Miss E. E. GRANTHAM. Both of Marion.

April 7, 1875

[lengthy memorial] Dr. Daniel Evander GILCHRIST died last Sunday, aged 69. Dr. Gilchrist came from Cape Fear region of N.C. Leaves 4 sons & 4 daughters.

April 21, 1875

Noah STRICKLAND, nearly 75 years old, found dead last Wednesday.

Mrs. Mary J. McWHITE, wife of Capt. B. B. McWHITE, and the daughter of the late Alexander OWENS, died on the 11th inst. Leaves husband & 9 children.

Mr. J. H. WHALEY, old citizen, died on 14th inst.

Mr. Jno. W. TART died last Friday.

Capt. Joseph A. BRUCE died in Brownsville on 7th inst., nearly 70 years old.

William BURROWS, Kershaw Co., died March 27.

Mr. T. Reese ENGLISH, of Sumter Co., son of Senator James ENGLISH, died on the 12th inst.
