Dr Hamilton, 79, Marion Dentist, Dies

Marion--(special)--Dr Thomas W Hamilton, 79, prominent retired dentist of Marion, died at 2pm at a local hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Thursday from the home by his pastor, the Rev L E Pope. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Doctor Hamilton was born in Marion County, the son of the late Wiley W and Jane Fore Hamilton. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and was a very active member of the Dental Association. He served on the State Board of Dental Examiners and was president of the board in 1929. Doctor Hamilton had practiced over 53 years in Marion, longer than any other dentist in the Pee Dee District Society.

He was also very active in the civic and business life of Marion, having served as a director of the Citizens Bank for many years. He was a Mason, member of Clinton Lodge No 60, Member of Omar Temple and the Elks.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs Mildred Andrews Hamilton, and one son, Tom Hamilton, Jr.
