Charlie M. Harrelson, 85, died at his home on West Marion St., Friday afternoon after two years of declining health. He had been seriously ill for six weeks.Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Lancaster, assisted by the Rev. Lester Brahmam were held at the Meares Funeral Home Saturday at 5 p. m. Burial was in Cedardal cemetery.
Mr. Harrelson was born in Marion County, August 10, 1871, a son of the late A. D. Harrelson and Mary Lee Harrelson. He spent most of his adult life as a farmer until his retirement 11 years ago. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War and a member of the Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow the former Miss Annie Hoffman; five sons, Raymond Harrelson of dillon, Albert Harrelson. of Mullins, Sam Harrelson of Fork, Edward T. Harrelson of Norfolk, Va., and J. J. Harrelson of Campbell, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Emerson P. Rogers, Jr. of Mullins; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
