MRS MARGARET COCHRAN BETHEA

Mrs Margaret Bethea died 26th of Jan'y last. She was the daughter of Thos. Cochran, born Sept. 10, 1782, and was married to James Bethea, April 21, 1800. She joined the M E Church in 1804, and in the year following made a profession of religion. Her exemplary conduct as a wife, mother, and member of the Church, needs no comments. Her pious walk as a Christian when in health, her resignation to the will of God under affliction, and her glorious testimony in the hour of death, assure us it is not a vain thing to serve the Lord, and that her immortal spirit is now reaping the reward of the finally faithful. Mrs Bethea was the mother of eleven children, the most of them, by her instrumentality, are members of the Church, and professing Christians. P M Hamer
