Tribute of Respect

Whereas, it hath pleased the Great Head of the Church, to remove from us, our beloved brother, Rev Goodman Bethea, who was born in Marion Dist., SC., July 2nd 1793 and died in Consecuh Co, Ala., September 22d, 1864.

Therefore: Resolved, by the Quarterly Conference of the Evergreen Circuit, that, in the death of Brother Bethea, the church has lost a zealous preacher, the poor a friend, and the country a great citizen. S F Petty, Secy.
