ELWOOD CHRISTMAS, DARLINGTON
Elwood Christmas, 63, died Tuesday. Born in Marion County, he was a son
of the late Robert and Nettie Christmas. He was an Air Force Veteran of
World War II and worked in the printing department at Dixie Cup before
becoming manager of Dixie Federal Credit Union. He was a member of the CUNA,
the VFW and the Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Bill (Patricia) Hobbs of Pendleton, Mrs.
Frank (Barbara) Branton of Florence, and Mrs. Delores Privette of
Darlington; sons, Coit and James A. Langley of Darlington; brothers,
Harrelson Christmas of Orangeburg, Eugene A. Christmas of Winston-Salem, N.
C., Earl Christmas of Loris and Paul Christmas of Montgomery, Alabama;
sisters, Mrs. Bessie Reynolds of Montevallo, Alabama, and Mrs. Irene Brown
of Florence; grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Thursday at the Darlington First
Baptist Church, with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today at Belk-King Funeral Home.
