J Dwight Coleman
Marion---J Dwight Coleman, 84, a retired farmer and merchant of the Rains Community, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a short illness.
Born in Marion County, he was a son of the late Griffin and Elizabeth Coleman.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Dorothy C Morris of New Zion, and Mrs A J Rigby of Kingstree; three sisters, Mrs R H Baxley of Marion, Mrs Lester Smith and Mrs J P Askins of Lake City; two brothers, Zack Coleman of Marion and Sam Coleman of Georgetown; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 3pm today at Smith Brothers Funeral Home with burial in Reedy Creek Cemetery.
The family suggests those who wish may make memorials to a charity.
