Herbert E Davis

Marion---Herbert E Davis, 56, died Thursday at his home in Britton's Neck.

He was the son of the late George and Ranie Smith Davis of Marion County.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday from Nebo Baptist Church by the Rev E M Chilton, with burial in Old Neck Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Naomi Cook Davis of Britton's Neck; two daughters, Mrs Joe L Sawyer of Marion and Mrs Jimmie Lee Smith of Portsmouth, Va.; four sons, J C of Portsmouth, and George Henry, Herbert Jr., and Horace Davis of Marion; one sister, Mrs Ernest Byrd of Marion, and two brothers, William of Marion and Cantey Davis of Delco, NC.
