D. O. Edwards
Brother D O Edwards, of near Mullins, SC., was born May 27 1871 and died June 17 1923. God blessed Brother Edwards with a strong, energetic body. He planned and worked for larger things not only in his church, but in his home, and state. Success attended his business efforts, and God blessed his faithful and efficient official work for his church. Brother Edward's death came suddenly. The day before he died he spent at work. At the marriage of his niece, the last evening of his earthly life he was full of cheer and gladness. He dressed himself the morning of his death, but soon found himself ill, and in a few hours he was dead.
December 21, 1898 he married Miss Aurilla Hays who with his four children survive him. The children are; Sara, Joe, Howard and Marion. He sleeps in old Miller church yard-the church he loved so well. His words of counsel, his liberal support, his fervent prayers will all be sore missed (but we are glad he lived among us.
True as a husband, faithful as a father, tried as a friend, we laid him to rest honored and loved until the Resurrection morning. Thos J White
