The Marion Star, Issue of December 16, 1868
[Both death announcements were together]

DIED.

On the 12th, after much suffering little Thomas Horatio, aged two years, eldest son of Captain and Mrs. A. L. Evans.

"Death lies on him like an untimely frost
Upon the sweetest flower of all the fields."

Passed away, from time to eternity, on the 4th inst., our dear little boy, James Dixon, son of Dr, Dixon and Mrs. E. J. Evans, aged nine months and four days

"Our sweet and gentle child whose smile
Made brighter summer hours,
Amidst the Frost of Winter time
Has left us with the flowers.

The light of his young life went down,
As sinks behind the hill
The glory of a setting star--
Clear, suddenly, and still.

Fold him, oh Earth! in Thine arms,
And henceforth let him be
A messenger of love between
Our human hearts and Thee."
