Herring Rites

Mullins--Services for Miles Herring will be held at 3 pm Saturday at the Mullins Free Will Baptist Church, with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr Herring, 85, died Wednesday at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.

Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Murdick and Eliza Smith Herring. He was an employee of the city of Mullins for 35 years.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Sallie Byrd of Marion, Mrs Janie Newberry of Laurinburg, NC., and Mrs Retha Bass and Mrs Bessie Richardson of Mullins; 39 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

Cox-Collins Funeral Home is in charge.
