D H Rogers, 79, Dies at Mullins
Mullins, Jan 13—(Special)—D Hampton Rogers, 76, died Saturday afternoon at
his home near Mullins following a stroke. He had been in poor health for some time.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Sunday afternoon conducted by his pastor,
the Rev J P Roquemore, assisted by the Rev T W Huggins. Interment will be in Watson
cemetery.
Mr Rogers, a native of this section, was a son of the late Mr and Mrs Johnson
Rogers. He had been twice married.
By his first marriage, to Miss Pencie Martin, two sons survive, Vendell Rogers of
Mullins and Lt Col Don Rogers of the Courtland Army Air Field, Portland, Ala.; his
second wife, the former Miss Reba Smith, survives him.
