Emerson P. Rogers Jr.
MULLINS -- Mr. Emerson Pentleton Rogers Jr., 84, husband
of Nan Harrelson Rogers, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004,
in Chesapeake, Va.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14,
2004, at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with
the Rev. Gary Harrelson officiating. Burial will follow
in Cedardale Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral
Mr. Rogers was born in Mullins, a son of the late
Emerson P. Rogers Sr. and the late Fleetwood Price
Rogers. Mr. Rogers retired from General Electric. He was
a charter member and 50 year Masonic veteran of
America-Fellowship Lodge #148. Mr. Rogers was a member
of Westhaven Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Rogers in addition to his wife of the home
are two sons, E. Penn Rogers III and his wife, Judy, of
Chesapeake, Va., and C. Neil Rogers and his wife, Cindy,
of Fernandina Beach, Fla., three grandchildren, Tori
Westmoreland and her husband, John, Matthew Rogers and
Penn Rogers; a great-grandchild, Amelia Westmoreland;
three sisters, Josephine Rogers of Mullins, Rosalee
Watts of Conway and Laverne Littlejohn of
Mechanicsville, Va.; three brothers, W.G. Rogers of
Summerville, Harry E. Rogers of Mullins and C. Ted
Rogers of Cross Hill; two special nieces, Frances Fields
and her husband, Charles, and son Chad and Ann Guber and
her husband, Don, and children Allison, Susan and David.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, 950 W.
Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
