MRS. M. TURNER PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Mattie Christmas Turner, 57, died at 5:30 a. m. Wednesday after a long illness at her home in Centenary. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. C. Melton at the home in Centenary at 3:00 p. m. Thursday with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her husband Elbert Turner, five daughters, Mrs. Nettie Mae Moore, Florence, Mrs. Rachel Smith, Dillon, Mrs. Mattie Lee Garrett, Dillon, Mrs. Edna T. Turner, Dillon, Miss Nancy Turner of the home; three sons, Frank and Cicero, of Dillon, and Elbert Turner, Jr., U. S. Navy; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Christmas and Mrs. Lizzie Sawyer of Dillon and Mrs. Mary Godbold, Marion; three brothers, Henry Christmas of Dillon, William Christmas of Florence, and Arthur Christmas of Portsmouth, Va.
