WILL OF
MATHEW ALLEN
South Carolina } This may do to Sertify that I Matthew Allen now in my propper
Marion District } sence and Right mind made out as my Last Will and
testament I do hereby give and bequeath all my property except the land &
negroes to my wife Elizabeth to raise maintain and school the children which
property shall be at the
wife
disposal and pofsefsion of my oldest son William and my^ during her widowhood
but if my wife Elizabeth changes her situation and marrieth another man then
one feather bed and furniture is ale that she Shall have of my property and
estate be and remain in the pofsefsion of my son William & the widow to
manage and conduct the same to school the children and pay the debts that may
be contracted and collect all the debts due to the Estate and what property
remains at the death of the widow then to be equally divided amongst my
children who shall be coheirs together. Given under my hand and Seal this
August the Twentieth day 1824
