WILL OF
JOHN BENSON
In the name of God amen I John Benson of the State of South Carolina
Marion District Calling to mind the mortality of my body and the uncertain-
ty of life and being of feeble body but of perfect and disposing mind and
memory do make this my last will and testament in form and manner follow-
ing viz --
First I ordain that all my just debts be paid out of my property and my
funeral expenses be discharged-- Next I give and bequeath to my dearly be-
loved wife Jane Benson all my stock of Cattle Hogs Sheep and Geese and
also I give her my farming utensils and household furniture together with
all my crop of all kinds for my said wife Jane to injoy Aureing her natural
life and her heirs born of her body After her for ever if any such issue
there be but if there be no such issue then what ever part this bequest she
may die pofsfsed of is to be appropriated to the Christian Church for the
promotion of the Gospil
And lastly I constitute //my //////friend And ordain my friend Malcom Stafford to
this my last will and testament exceuter -- In witnefs whereof I have here
unto set my hand And fixed my seal On this the Twenty seventh day of Oct-
ober one thousand eight hundred and Thirty four
