WILL OF JAMES BIGHAM
In the name of God Amen I James Bigham of South Carolina Marion District being
frail in body but of sound mind and understanding thank be to Almighty God for
the same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
Viz First it is my will and deieus after my decease for my corps. to interred
in my own burying ground in a Christian like manner.
Item I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Martha Bigham and Jane Bigham
One hundred and twenty acres of land including my dwelling house and buildings
whereon I now reside the land to be laid off at their own election also my Grey
horse riding chair and harnefs four Cows and calves /two sows and ten year
old hogs Two Bedsteads beds and furniture One Loom and harnefs the half of my
household and Kitchen furniture my full share of the provision crop now on hand
or that may be on hand. \at my decease to them their heirs and afsigns forever.
Item I give. and bequeath unto my son John Bigham One hundred acres of land to
be laid off adjoining his own land and the land which I havea Willed to my two
daughters to him his heirs and afsigns forever.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son David Bigham One hundred and twenty acres
of land to be laid off adjoining William Gregg Junr and Estate of
William Orr. to him his heirs and afsigns forever
Item I give and bequeath unto my son William Bigham one hundred acres of land
to be laid off adjoining Thomas Stephensons and the premises which I willed to
my two daughters to him his heirs and afsigns forever. --
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Bigham the remaining part of my
land adjoining Thomas Stephenson and John Haile supposed to be Two hundred and
twenty one. acres more or lefs to him his heirs and afsigns forever.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son James Bigham and daughter Elisabeth
Frierson (residing in the State of Tennefsee) One hundred Dollars each to be
paid at my decease by my Sons in the following proportions Vis. John Bigham,
David Bigham, and William Bigham to pay Twenty five dollars each and Samuel
Bigham to pay One hundred and twenty five dollars it being their.full share of
my Estate both Real and personal to them their heirs and afsigs forever.
It is further my will and desire that the whole remaining part part of personal
property which I may die possefsed of be Sold at Publick auction by my Exors
and the monies arising from said sale be appripriated for the purpose of paying
the debts contracted for the use of My Estate and the balance If any there be
to be equally divided between my four sons John David, David William and Samuel
to them and their heirs forever And I do nominate constitute and appoint my
said four sons John Bigham, David Bigham, William Bigham, and Samuel Bigham my
lawful Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making
void all and every other Will or Wills at any time by me heretofore made and
do declare this to be my last Will and testament
In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Thirty first day
of August in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen
