                    WILL OF 

                JAMES CRAWFORD

In the name of God Amen I James Crawford of Marion District
in the State of South Carolina being very weak in body but of 
perfect mind and memory thinks be given unto God calling unto
mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed 
for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will 
and Testament that is to Say principally and first of all I 
give and recommend my Soul into the hand of almighty God that
gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in 
a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors
nothing doubting that at the General resurrection I shall re-
ceive the same again by the mighty power of God- And as touch-
ing such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to blefs
me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in
the following manner and form -----

First I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Tart one
ngroe Boy named Dick one other negroe Boy named peter one ne-
groe woman named Amy & a Small stock of Cattle  the negroes and
cattle before mentuned is now in the pofsefsion of my Daughter
I also Give to my well beloved Daughter Elizabeth Tart tow Other
negroes one Woman named Befs and one Girl named Debby--Also I 
give to my well beloved Daughter Charity Porter one Negroe wo-
man named Sally, one negroe Boy named Luke one girl name Irine
and one old negroe woman nam Molle-- Also I Give to My well be-
loved Daughter Martha Gasque one negroe woman named Patt one ne-
negroe Boy named Simon & one negroe man named Joe  Also I Give 
to my well beloved Son James Crawford one negroe man named Quash
one negroe woman named Sall one negroe Girl named Mary one negro
Boy named Bill and the plantation and Tract of land Situate at 
Cashaway Ferry on Pee Dee   Also I give to my well beloved Daugh-
ter Sally Crawford one negro man named Ben one negroe woman
named Esther and hir three Children Manuel David And Milla  Also
I give to my well beloved Daughter Nancy Crawford one Negroe
man named Burrough one negroe woman named Selah & hir Two Chil-
dren Frank and Nelle--Also I Give to my well beloved Daughter

Sarah Ann Crawford one Negroe man named Pirce one negroe
Woman named Alcey one negroe Boy named Pirce one Negroe Boy--
named Stephen & one negroe Boy named Tim  Also I Givethe/ballence
of my negroes that is not already named in my will to be e-
qually devided Amongst my Children Shere and Shere alike  Also
I Give and bequeath to my three youngest Daughters Sally Craw-
ford Nancy Crawford & Sarah Ann Crawford the Plantation and 
Tract of Land where I now reside on Catfish to be equally de-
vided amongst them  the ballence of my Land to be equally de-
vided amongst the rest of my Surviving Children  Also I give 
all the remaining part of the property that I may be pofsefsed
of at the time of my deceas to be equally devided amongst my
heirs Shere and Shere alike  I likewise Constitute make and Or-
dain my well beloved Son James Crawford the Sole Executor of 
this my last Will and testament and I do hereby utterly dis-
allow revoke and disannul all and evrey other former Testament 
wills Legasies bequest and Executors by me in any wise before
named willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no
other to be my last will and Testament in Witnefs where of I have
hur unto Set my hand And Seal the Sixteenth day of September
in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen
And inthe forty first year of the Independence of the united
States of America
