NUNCUPATIVE WILL OF WILLIAM DAVIS
William Davis who died on the 24th Instant at House of James _ Alison being of
sound and disposing mind & memory on the Evening before his death make the
following disposition of his property
That the whole of his property which was not already in money Should be
converted into such as soon as convenient & that the same together with what
money he left at the time of his death should be laid out in young negro
wenches and that the whole should go to his two children Francis Ga__ett Davis
& David Williams Davis provided William H Greaves should give or make up to
his youngest daughter Margaret Ann Gourley Davis property to the amount or
equal in value to the respective portions which his other two children may
receive But should the said William H Greaves not give or make up to his
youngest daughter property equal in value to the respective portions of his
other two children then in that case his youngest daughter should receive a
portion out of his Estate which together with whatever the said
William H. Greaves may give her shall be equal to the respective portions of
his other two children
The said William Davis did further direct that Binjamin Davis & Abram G Davis
should take his estate into their hands & manage the same for the same for
the benefit of his children as before directed
