WILL OF LEONARD DOZIER
State of South Carolina ) In the name of God Amen I Leonard Dozier
Marion District ) of the State and District
aforesaid being Weak of body but of
sound mind and memory and knowing that is allotted for all men once to die do make
ordain and constitute this my last Will and Testament To Almighty God I recommend my
soul my body to be buried decently at the discretion of my Executors And as touching
such Worldly matters as I may die pofsefsed of after the payment of all my Just debts
It is my will and desire that they be disposed of in manner following
1st To my brother James Dozier I give the plantation whereon I now reside
which I got by the Will of my father also another Tract of land Granted in my own name
lying and being in Gapway adjoining lands of Joseph Davis Estate of John Hamilton and
the said James Dozier the number of acres at this time not recollected
2nd To my brother John Dozier I give my negro woman Nelly and my double
barrelled Gun
3rd To my brothers Abraham & John Dozier and my Sister Elizabeth
Godfrey I give and bequeath all the residue of my Real Estate to be divided Share
and Share alike between them
4 To my Three Brothers Abraham John & James Dozier and my Sister Elizabeth Godfrey
I give and bequeath the whole of my Estate of whatever Kind except such as is herein
aforementioned to be equally divided amongst them share and Share alike
5th It is my will and desire that if My brother John Dozier should receive
the legacy aforementioned of the negroe woman Nelly then he is to relinquish all right
or claim against my Estate of a certain note given by me and made payable to him for
the sum of One hundred and twenty five dollars due in five equal annual Instalments
it being for Old Negro Woman Hannah Lastly It is my will and desire that my Brothers John & James Dozier be my Executors to this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby renounce and disannul all former Wills by me made In witnefs whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this day of in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten and in the Thirty fifth of the Independence of America
