WILL OF JAMES FOXWORTH
In the name of God Amen I James Foxworth of Liberty County in the State of
South Carolina being in Reasonable health both of Mind and body blefsed be
God for his mercies bestowed on me but calling to mind the mortality of this
body and that it is appointed for all men once to die Do ordain and constitute
this my last will and Testament but first of all I commit my Spirit unto the
hand of God who gave it nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again
at the last day and be again reunited in soul & body by the Mighty power of
God as for my body I commit the same to the Earth to be decently Entered in a
Christian form and Burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter
mentioned and as for such worldly Goods as it hath pleased Almighty God to
Endow me with I do hereby dispose of in manner and form following that is to
say after paying & Satisfying all my Just debts and funeral charges which I
leave to the discretion of my Executors
Item I give and Bequeath unto my lawful wife Margaret Foxworth her third part
of my estate during her lifetime and after her death to be equally divided
between Rhody Cronston Margaret Mannon & Lydia Mannon
Item I give and bequeath unto the aforesaid Rhody Cronston Margaret Mannon and
Lydia Mannon all the remainder of my Estate Real & Personal to be equally
divided between them after my decease
I give and bequeath unto Thomas Foxworth Lois Foxworth, Zachariah Foxworth,
Easther Tanner Ann Peck, Levina Miller and Salah Grice One Shilling Sterling
apiece to be paid unto them Severally after my decease by Executors as the
last part of their Portions.
And I do hereby nominate constitute and ordain or appoint my my trusty friend
Thomas Godbold Senr. Executor and Margaret Foxworth my lawful wife
Executrix to this my last Will and testament hereby ratifying and confirming
this and no other to be my last Will and Testament Hereby denying Revoking and
Disannulling all other wills and Testaments whatsoever
In Testimony Whereof I the said James Foxworth have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this thirtyeh day of February in the year of our Lord One
thousand Seven hundred and Ninety six and in the twentieth year of Americas
Independency
