WILL OF
JOHN C. GIBSON
In the Name of God Amen. I John C Gibson of the District of Marion and
State of South Carolina being of sound disposing mind and memory do make
this my last will and testament I desire that all my Just debts be paid and
the balance of my property I dispose of as follows. To my daughter Mary
Ann Desdamona Gibson I give on her arriving at the age of twenty one years
she is to be put in pofsefsion of the following negroes and their increase
Mary, Cato, Thomas, John Washington Silvia & Billy and also the sum of
three thousand dollars which I now have bonds for on J. F. Livingston Secured
by a mortgage of the grove lands the hire and Labor of these negroes to-
gether with the interest of the bonds to be for the support and education of
my said daughter untile she is twenty one years of age and it is my exprefs
will and desire that if my said daughter die without lawful ifsue that the
property should go to the children of my Sister Mrs Mary Henagan there heirs
and afsigns forever. To my said Sisters children I Give the following prop-
erty to wit. Stephen, old Binkey old Jim young Jim to them their heirs and
and afsigns forever. I also give of my other bonds on said Livingston the sum of
three thousand five hundred dollars to be equally divided among my said sis-
ter M Henagans children and Marcus and James Gibson upon their arriving to
the age of twenty one years and if either dies without lawful ifsue then and
in that case said portion of money to go to the survivor or survivors of them
share and share alike. I furthermore desire that the education and support of
my said daughter be entrusted to and shall be under the entire control of my
Executors herein after named whom I also herein appoint the guardians of her
person and property. Lastly I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my
friends Hugh Godbold. Saml F Gibson and Edw B Wheeler Executors of this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all others. In witnefs whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of January Eighteen hundred and
