Jordan Gibsons Will


State of South Carolina In the name of God Amen I Jordan Gibson of Liberty
County in the State aforesaid Farmer being indisposed in body but thanks be God 
in my perfect ... and of a sound mind well being hearing  and speaking and 
knowing that there is nothing more certain than death and nothing ... as the 
time thereof I therefore have made and constituted this my last will and 
testament in the manner form and ways following That is to say, I recommend my 
soul to him that gave it hoping that through the merits death and ... of my 
Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ to have full & free pardon and
forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit Everlasting Life and my body I
commit to the Earth in assurance of an Eternal Resurrection, to be decently 
buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as toutching the 
disposition of all ... Termporal Estates as it  pleased the Almighty God to 
bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as follows.

First of all I will that my debts & Funeral charges shall be paid &
discharged.  

Item.  I do give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Nathaniel Gibson one 
shilling Sterling.  Also I do give and bequeath unto my well beloved son 
Malichi Gibson one Shilling Sterling.  Also I do give and beaqueath unto my 
well beloved son John Gibson one Shilling Sterling.  Also I do give and 
bequeath unto my well beloved son Stephen Gibson one Shilling
Sterling  Also I do give & bequeath unto my well beloved Daughter Rhoda
Gibson one shilling Sterling  

Also I do give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Mary Gibson all
my stock of cattle ... Hoge Horse and all plantation tools & Household
furniture consisting of whatsoever it may be at my decease to be for the 
...of the ... Mary Gibson her lifetime and at her decease ...and belong to 
my well beloved son Tobias Gibson...negro Slaves  named as follows Shar... 
& Sura...     I do give the above named Mary Gibson at my decease to dispose 
of at her own will and pleasure.  

And last of all I do hereby nominate appoint and constitute my beloved friends 
Nathaniel Saunders & Nathaniel Gibson my Executors to this my Last will & 
Testament hoping that they will see do or cause to be done and execute every 
article part or clause therein mentioned according to the tone contract and 
meaning thereof and I do invoke disannull and make void all other
wills & Testaments by me heretofore made In witness whereof I the said
Jordan Gibson to this my last will & Testament being contained in one sheet of 
paper.  I have hereunto Set my hand and seal the 3rd day of January One thousand 
Seven hundred and ninety nine and in the Twenty third year of American Indepency
