WILL OF
JAMES HOLLAND
In the name of God Amen I James Holland of South Carolina Marion District
being indisposed in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory
thanks to Almighty for his mercies do make and ordain this to be my last
will and testament in manner and form following (Vis) Item I give and be-
queath unto my beloved wife Susannah Holland one negro Girl Fanny one bed
and furniture two cows and calves at her own election to her her heirs and
afsigns forever I also give and bequeath unto my said wife the whole of the
property which I may die pofsefsed of both real and personal during her nat-
ural life except such as shall be hereafter be willed off unlefs she should
leave ifsue at her death and in that case for her child or children to have
the half of the said property (She having been lawfully married) to them
their heirs and afsigns forever And if my said wife should die without leav-
ing lawful ifsue than the property which I have given her a life estate in
shall return (or should she leave ifsue at her death then the one half to
return) To my brother John Hollands children Joseph Holland & Rebeccah Hol-
land and to Richard Hutson children Sarah Hutson Mariah Hutson and Joseph
Hutson to be divided amongst them in the following manner viz The half of
said legacy to be equally divided between the said Joseph Holland and Rebeccah
Holland and the remaining half to be equally divided between the sd Sarah
Hutson Mariah Hutson and Joseph Hutson to them their heirs and afsigns for-
ever The whole divisions to be made by three disinterested persons chosen
by my Exrs. Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand nephews James Finklea and
Samuel Finklea to each one Cow and Calf at my decease to be given to them
by my Extrs to them their heirs & afsigns forever Item I give And bequeath
unto my friend Richard Hutson my Rifle Gun to him his heirs & afsigns forever
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother John Holland children Joseph Holland
and Rebecca Holland and to Richard Hutsons children Sarah Hutson Mariah Hut-
son and Joseph Hutson the half of my stock of cattle and Hogs also my stock
of Horses (except two to be chosen by wife) at my death to them their heirs
and afsigns forever to be divided between said children in the Same manner
as is above specified and to be taken care of by their parents until they
arrive to the age of twenty one years or married Also I give and bequeath unto
my said friend Richard Hutson one hundred Acres of land which it Now lives

upon it being part of a tract which I purchased from James Freeman at my
decease to him his heirs his heirs and afsigns forever And Lastly I nomi-
nate and constitute and appoint my beloved wife Susannah Holland Extrx and
John Gregg and Richard Hutson Extrs of this my last will and Testament In
Witnefs Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighteenth day
of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifteen
and in the Thirty ninth year of the Independance of the United States of
