In the name of God, Amen I Philip Kirton Senr of the District of marion and
State of South Carolina being weak in body but of Sound and disposing mind
and memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testement in
manner and form as follos
to wit all my Just debts to be paid Item I also give and bequeath to my be-

loved children Henry Phillip/Samuel one half of all my land not other wise
disposed of to be Equally divided I also l[one?] to my three daughters mary
Elisabeth and olive the other half of all my lands not otherwise disposed of
as follows I lone to Mary one third of Said land during her naturl life and
at her death I geve Said Shear to her[nr struckthrough] daughter Rebecca I also lone

waring appearil I gave to my three Sones Henry Philip and Samul to be Equal-
ly divided all my Beds and Bedstids to be Equally divided betwene all my

This Will was transcribed from a copy of a WPA transcription done in the 1930s.
It would appear that the transcriber retained the spellings of the original, and
in places, the Will, as transcribed, does not particularly make sense; e.g., the
use of "Gave" rather than "give", and of course the difference is of some consequence.
Nevertheless, I have written as I read. As always, please consult the original document.--vp
