Allen Carmichael Lewis was the son of William L. Lewis and Flora Carmichael, and
the grandson of Hardy Lewis. He died July 25, 1916.

In the name of God, Amen.
Whereas the tenure of life is ever since and the sure approach of death
inevitable and unavoidable, therefore I, Allen Carmichael Lewis, of the County
of Marion, in the State of South Carolina, being of a sound and disposing mind,
do make declare and publish this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking
all other by me made.
Item I. I give, bequeath and devise to my beloved wife, Lizzie Lewis, all that
certain tract of land lying and being situate in Reaves Township, County and
State aforesaid, containing one hundred acres more or less and bounded as
follows, south by H. B. Harrelson and W.L. Reaves; west by W.L. Reaces and
H.B. Harrington; south by H.B. Harrington and estate lands D.M. Nicholson, and
east by a branch running through my lands and to the eastern boundaries of the
lands above described.
Item II. I give bequeath and devise unto my beloved wife, Lizzie Lewis, all my
personal property including household and kitchen, furtniture, farmiling
implements, stock of horses, cattle, hay, and every class of personal property
of all kinds.
Item III. I give, bequeath, devise, and deed that my beloved wife, Lizzie Lewis,
shall hold and dispose of all of the property described in Items I and II as in
her judgement may be best and if she be living at the demise of the Testator to
give bequeath and devise any or all of the aforesaid real and personal property
to her four children, Sheppard Kirkland Lewis, John Owen Lewis, Annie Lewis, and
Allen Birney Lewis as her judgement may dictate. This property herein above
described being the portion intended for my beloved wife Lizzie Lewis and her
four children above named subject to her will, wishes, and action during her
lifetime.
Item IV. I give bequeath and devise unto my three daughters Edith Dora Smith,
Nannie Nettie Lewis, and Bertha Mary Lewis all that certain tract of land lying
and being situate in the County and State aforesaid containing one hundred acres
more or less and bounded as follows by: North by estate lands of D. M. Nicholson,
East by Geo. W. Smith and Elly Jones; South by H.B. Harrington; and west by a
branch the divising line between the lands gerein above deede to Lizzie Smith
and this now given to my daughters above named provided that should either die
without lawful issue the interest herein conveyed shall fall to the other one
or ones.
Item V. I give bequeath and devise unto my sons Capers A. Lewis and
Herbert A. Lewis, and my son-in-law M. Bennett Beaks one dollar each, having done
for them already whatever was allotted for them..
Item VII. I nominate and appoint Herbert A. Lewis and Wm. G. Norton Executors
to this my last will and testatment without bond or fees except the legitimate
expenses necessary to the winding up of my estate and enforcing the provisions
of this will.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 26th
day of April A.D. 1910 and in the one hundred and thirty third year of the
sovereignity and independence of the United States of America.
