Will of James Lewis

In the name of God, amen

I James Lewis of the State of South Carolina, Marion Distruct, being sick
and week in bodey but of sound mind and perfect membrey make this my last
will and testament in maner and form as fawith.

First, after my family moves and gits settled I give to my son Henry Lewis
my black horse, sadle and bridle to his use for ever -

Secondly my desire is that my loving wife Charitey Lewis keeps all the rest
of my property and to lay out the money as she may think proper to raise my
schildren and school them and after her death to be equally divided amongst
all my heirs only my son Henrey to have no more until the rest of my heires
receives as much as I have given him-

Also I nominate and appoint my loving wife Charitey Lewis and my son Henrey
Lewis and my son Maltre Lewis my Exorts to this my last will and testament
in witness wheareof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 6th day of
October 1816 of America Independence.
