                               WILL OF

                          PETER MacARTHUR

In the name of God amen.  I Peter MacArthur of the State of North Carolina

and County of Robeson being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and

memory calling unto mind that it is appointed for all men once to die do

make ordain & publish this my last will and testament //In in manner and form

following-

In the first place I recommend my Soul to almighty God and desire my body

to be decently enterred in such manner as my Executors herein after named

shall think proper and^as regards what worldly Goods it has been pleased Al-

mighty God to blefs me with: after all my just debts are paid I dispose

of^them in the following manner viz

In primis - I give and bequeath unto Catharine M Millan a negro man Slave

by the name of Willie to her and her heirs forever also one bed and furni-

ture to her forever

Third. I give and bequeath unto Polly MacArthur one bed and furniture to

hir and hir heirs forever

It is my will and desire that Neill Baker pay over to John MacCormaig &

Peggy his wife Alexander MacKay & Nancy his wife, Daniel Blue & Catherine

his wife, Effy MacArthur Christian MacArthur and Duncan MacArthur heirs at

Law of Duncan MacArthur dec^d (Neill MacArthur one of said heirs being other-

wise provided for and excepted from any share on that account) the Sum of

Two hundred and fifty seven Dollars & fifteen cents being a ballance due

me on the Sale of a negro man by the name of ^Billy------Willie to said Neill Baker:

for performance of which the said Neill Baker has given his bond with

Jacob alford Security: which bond is lodged in the hands of Warren Alford

Sen^r for safe Keeping.  In case the said Neill Baker shall fail to comply

with the conditions of said Bond I will and desire that my executors herein

after named sue on said Bond and the amount when recovered be paid over to

the heirs of Duncan MacArthur dec^d. above named to them and there heirs for-

ever

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine MacMillan my daughter 

in Law Polly MacArthur and my Granddaughter Caty Blue wife of Daniel Blue

all my Stock of every Kind working tools and Farming Utensils of every Kind

to be equally divided/^{among them}share and share alike to tham and their heirs for-

ever

Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint Warren Alford Snr^& John MacCormaig

Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other

wills heretofore made by me and declaring this and this only to be my last

will and testament
