Will Of
RUTH OWENS
In the name of God Amen I Ruth Owens of Marion District in the State of South
Carolina being sick & weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be
given unnto God calling unto mind the Mortallity of my body and Knowing that
it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will
and Testament that is to say principly and first of all I give and recommend
my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to
the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my
Executors Nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive
the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate
wherewith it hath pleased God to blefs me with in this life. I give demise
and dispose of the same in manner following I give and bequeath to Solomon
Owens my well beloved Son in law and son of the late Reverend David Owens the
following negroes namely a Woman Sylvia and a Girl named Beckey my stock of
all Kinds viz Horses, Cattle, Sheep, & hogs all my house hold and Kitchen
furniture and wearing apparel I do likewise give to the said Solomon Owens
All that part or parcel of land left me by the last Will & Testament of the
late Reverent David Owens with all my Estate debts dues and demands
whatsoever to him & to his heirs forever. I likewise constitute and appoint
my friend John Williamson and my soninlaw Solomon Owens the Executors of this
my last Will and Testament And I do hereby utterly disallow revoked disannul
all and every other former Testaments Will Legacies bequests and Executors by
me in anywise before named Willed and bequeathed Ratifying and confirming
this and no other to be my Last Will & Testament In Witnefs Whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of November in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred and four Signed Sealed published
pronounced and declared by the said Ruth Owens as her last Will and Testament
in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto Subscribed
our names
