JOHN PAISLEY
State of S. Carolina
In the name of God Amen, I John Paisley of Marion Dis-
trict in the State Aforesaid, Planter, being Weak in Body but of sound
mind and memory, do make this my last Will & Testament in manner and form
as follows. Imprimus'
I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Frazer Goddard son of William Goddard de-
ceased, all my Right & Interest to the Estate of the said William Goddard de-
ceased, and also all my right & Estate that may arise from a Law suit a-
gainst the Estate of John Baxter deceased now pending and to be determined
hereafter, to him and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever----
I Bequeath & Devise also unto the said Thomas Frazer Goddard Eleven Hundred
and forty Six Arpens of Land, Situated upon the Plains of Galvestown in the
Territory of Louisianna being the Residence of the Late, John Alman De-
ceased, and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever.---
I Bequeath & Devise unto my Brother Robert Paisley Eight Hundred Arpens
situated upon the Amite River, in West Florida, and Known by the name of
Almans Bluff, and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever.---
Also all the ready money & Specialties due me now in the Hands of Thomas
Urquhart & Abner L. Duncan my Attorneys risiding in the City of New Orleans,
to him & to his Heirs & Afsigns forever.
I Bequeath unto William Shaw Harvey thirty Arpens in Front, and forty Arpens
deep or Back, situated upon the Plains of Galves Town in the territory of New
town
Orleans, to him and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever,---
I Give & Devise unto Nephew Thomas Jefferson Paisley twelve Arpens in front

by twenty in depth Situated upon the Plains of Galvestown in the territory
of Louisiana, to him and to his Heirs & Afsigns forever---- Also, one other
tract upon the Bayou manshack, Consisting of Four Hundred Arpens to him and
to his Hes Heirs and Afsigns forever. I do hereby Will & desire that my
House Wench daphne and her Daughter Hannah, with their future Increase, be
hereby manumitted and forever set freed from the Yoke of Slavery for their
past Services From the Respect and regard which I have unto my friend Jacob
William Harvey, I Give and Bequeath unto him and to his Heirs forever the
Sum of Five Hundred Dollars which is owing me from Phillip Elliot of George-

town the Ballance of which and my Account with him to be paid paid into the
hands of my Executors for the intire.benifit of the within named Thomas
Frazer Goddard, and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever. I mean from the two
last Legacies, that as I have a demand of Fifteen Hundred Dollars against
the said Phillip Elliot for money lent him in New York, that my Account
he has against me, & the legacy of Five Hundred Dollars left to Jacob Wm
Harvey be deducted from the said fifteen Hundred Dollars and residue be for
the use of the said Thomas Frazer Goddard as aforesaid---
And I do hereby nominate & Constitute my friends Collo Leonard Dozer, Doc-
tor Joseph Blythe, Jacob Wm Harvey, & the said Thomas Frazer Goddard When-
ever he arrives to the age of Seventeen Years, Executors to this my last
Will & Tistament In Witnefs Whereof I. have herunto set my hand and Seal
to this my last Will being contained on these pages as above. twenty fourth
day of October in the year of Our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred & Six
