WILL OF
SIMON PRITCHETT
In the name of God Amen I Simon Pritchet of the State of South
Carolina Marion District finding myself declining & Knowing
that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my
last Will & Testament I,recommend my soul to God that gave it
and hope he will receive the same again my body to be buried
in a Christian manner & as to what worldly Goods it hath
pleased God to blefs me with I dispose of in the following
manner viz all my Lawful debts to be paid Item I give unto my
children Sarah McPherson Pritchet William James Pritchett John
Dickson Pritchet & Jacob Lindsay Pritchet all my Estate Real
& personal my children to have their part of my Estate when
they marry or come of age My horses & Stock of all Kinds with
my Plantation Tools H household & Kitchen furniture to be sold
by my Executors as Soon as it is convenient & the money for the
purpose of Schooling my children that my Estate or part of my
Estate that is sold amounts to My Plantation to be rented by
my Executors the plantation to be Kept in repair My negroes
Peter Joe Amy Sam Mary Bob Arnold & Barbary & if their should
be any increase My Executors to hire my negroes out I would
wish my Executors could hire them to such persons as would treat
them well The money that is recd for hire of the negroes or the
part of my Estate that is sold I desire that my children shall
be schoold out of it the remainder I leave with my Executer to
do with as they think best to the advantage of my children.
they may if they think best put out to Interest if not they may
keep it in their own hands I have no doubts. But what. my Exe-
cutors will do my Children every pofsible Justice Lastly I con-
stitute & appoint my Brothers James McPherson & Nathan McPher-
son Executors to this my last Will & Testament In confirmation
whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 6 July in the
year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & Sixteen & the
forty first year of the Independance of the United States of
America
