WILL OF
DESDAMONA SALMON
In the Name of God, Amen
I Desdamona Salmon of the District of Marion & State of South
Carolina, being week in body but of sound and disposing mind and memmory
(blefsed be God) and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs whilst I
have strength and Capacity to do so do avail myself of the privilege reserved
in a marriage contract between myself
to myself/and David D Salmon, do make and ordain this my last Will and Tes-
tament in manner and form following------
I desire that my Just debts and funeral expences be paid immediately after
my desease out of my Estate -------
Item - It is my will and desire that all of my personal property except that
hereinafter named, be divided among my three children, Namely - John Woodberry,
Martha A Gause, and George W. Woodbery, share and share alike, and that they
have and enjoy it during their natural lifes, and at their death, I give their
destributive share to the lawful ifsue of their body, But should either of my
above named children die leaving no lawfull ifsue then and in that case, it is
my Will and desire that his or her share of the personal property which they
may have received, together with the increase be equally divided among my Grand-
children then living share and share alike------
It is my further Will and desire that the Negroes Adam, Catira[?], Hannah, Frank,
Phonae[?], Amanda, Tom, Robert and William be put into my daughter Martha A Gause's
share when the property is divided among my above named children ------
Item - It is my Will and desire that all of my Real Estate be put into my son
George W. Woodbery share when the property is divided for his use and benifit,
during the term of his natural life, and after his death to be equally divided
among the lawful ifsue of his body,-------
Item -- It is my Will and desire that my son John should have my -eleret and
my daughter Martha my Bed and Bedstead and Furniture and my three Trunks and
my son George Washington, my Desk and Book Case and my Grandson, Franklin
R. Woodberry my Silver Ladle and my Grandson James B. Woodberry my five large
silver Spoons.,
Lastly - I nominate, Constitute and appoint my sons John Woodbery. George W.
Woodbery and Benjamin Gause my Executors to this,my last Will and Testament
hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made -----

I declare this to be my last Will and Testament, which I hereunto set
my hand and seal this the 27 June 1855 And in the 79 year of American Independence
Signed, Sealed, published and declared as and for the last will and Tes-
tament of the above named Desdamona Salmon in the presence of us who at her re-
quest and in her presence & in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed
our names as Witnesses -------
