State of South Carolina
Marion district - - - - Should it please Almighty God to shorten the period of my Existance at
this time, this testimony of my will I wish to be most explicitly obeyd - Of my own free wile and
accord being sound of mind, tho sorely affected by disease, do wile and bequeath as follows --
Of my Stock I wish observed as follows - I wish them all sold - except a sufficincy to support My
Wife and child and plantation purposes
To Eli Jones (my natural child) I give and bequeath Five Hundred dollars to be appropriated by my
Executors towards his Board and Education. from time to time as occasion may require, also to the
same Eli Jones, I give and bequeath Eight head of Cattle and one young Horse. to be given to him
forthwith thereby revokeing so much of my will above relative to my stock - also I wish a line run
begining from the point field, running from thence to the lower corner of the bear pond tract, which
lands adgoin thos of My,Father Stephen shackelford. to whom I give and bequeath the same - I wish it understood however that the said line must not embrace any of my negro Houses - To the
above my watch and Carriage I give and bequeath to my wife also to the same one or two
Horses as she may want,
To the above my last wile and testament. I leave as Executors my Brother John Shackelford and
John Baker, both of the district aforesaid
