The State of South Carolina ) In the name of God amen. I William Smith of

Marion District ) said State and District, do make this my last
)
will and testament - It is my will and desire, that as soon as may be con-
venient after my death that my Executrix Shall pay all my just legal debts,
doctor,s Bill and burial and funeral expences, out of any of my property
not otherwise disposed of. To my beloved wife, utha Smith, I give and be-
queath all the Horses which I may have at my death, the bed, bedstead and all
the furniture belonging thereto. (The Bed called utha's bed) The dining
table and all the siting chairs beloning to my house All the kitchen furni-
ture, Three Cows and yearlings and a two year old Heiffer and their increase.
One half of all my Sheep and Hogs which I may have at my death - I give and
bequeath to my said wife a negro girl named candis and her increase during
her natural life to use control and enjoy as her own; and at her my said wife,s
death, the uses and profits of said Slave to Elisabeth Woodard during her
natural life; and at her death to vest finally absolutely and forever in her
child or children.
I give and bequeath to my Said wife a negro girl named Sarahann and her in-
crease, during her natural life, to use, controle and enjoy as her own; and
at her my said wife,s death, the uses and profits of said Slave to Mary A.
Smith during her natural life, and at her death to vest finally abosolutely
and forever in her child or children. I give and bequeath to my said wife,
Mariah a negro woman slave and her increase and her children Simon, Alex-
ander and Randal to vest finally absolutely and forever in my said wife - I
also give and bequeath unto my Said wife all the provifsions for people, hor-
ses and cattle which I amy have at my death, two ploughs and guear two weed-
ing hoe, one grubbing hoe and one Shovel Spade.
It is my will and desire that my executrix as soon after my death as may be
convenient and after She has payed my debts as aforesaid Shall Sell all my
property according to the vendue * and divide equally among my children
or their representatives the proceeds of the sale of all Kinds of property
owned by me at my death and not herein bequeath or otherwise disposed of.
I do hereby nominate, ordain and appoint, my Said wife, my lawful executrix

to execute this my last wile and testament - in witnefs hereof I hereunto
set my hand and seal this Second day of July A. D. one thousand Eight hun-
dred and fifty one and in the Seventy fifth year of the Sovreignty of the
united States of America
