WILL OF
ISAAC STACKHOUSE
In the name of God Amen
I Isaac Stackhouse of South Carolina Marion District being
of feeble body but of sound and disposing mind and being desirous of dispos-
ing of my earthly estate do make constitute and ordain this my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following on this the fourteenth day of Septem-
ber Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and Fifty four Viz First My desire
and will is that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of my
personal estate Secondly I give and bequeath to my son Mastin C Stackhouse
in lieu of a share of my land Two hundred and twenty four dollars which to-
gether with what I have already given him is to constitute his share of my
real estate except what I shall hereafter leave to be sold Thirdly I give and
bequeath to my son Eli Thomas Stackhouse in lieu of any share in my lands ex-
cept what I shall hereafter leave to be sold Two hundred and Twenty four dol-
lars fourhly I give and bequeath to my son Wm. R. Stackhouse one hundred and
four acres of land lying between Allen Gaddy E T Stackhouse and lands of the
estate of John Hamilton and Three hundred and Sixty Six dollars in money
for his share of my real estate except what I shall leave to be sold I also
give and bequeath to him Two Cows and Calves and One bed and furniture
Fifthly I give and bequeath to my sons Tristram F, Hugh Milton and Robert J.
B. Stackhouse The plantation on Which I live and adjoining lands Containing
thirteen and twenty hundred and twenty five acres to be equally divided between
them by Straight line runing from the back lines to the River Hugh Milton to
have the uper or north and Tristram F to have the Middle piece and Robt J B
the lower or South and yet that each of my son namely Tristram F. Hugh Milton and
Robet J B shall pay back to my estate or account in a division herein after
named the sum of Five hundred and six dollars making them share equal in my
land with my other heirs I give and bequeath to my son Tristram F my Sorrel
Mare two Cows and Calves and one Bed and furniture to Hugh Milton I give my
Cream Coloured horse two cows and Calves and one bed and furniture To my son
Robt J B I give and bequeath My Brown Bay Horse two Cows and Calves and one
Bed and furniture
Sixtly i give and bequeath to my Six sons namely Mastin C, Eli Thomas,
Wm. Russell, Tristram F, Hugh Milton, and Robt. J B. /I ////give ///and and my Two

Grand daughters Martha James White and Mary Susan Fore All my entire per-
sonal estate namely my negros my Stock of all Kinds not heretofore given
My plantation Tool my Riding carriages all my household furniture not not
heretofore given my Kitchen furniture and all and every portion of my person-
nal estate With whatever Monies and Credits of which I may die pofsefsed to
be divided amongst them so that each shall get an equal part except my two
grand daughters who together are only to get one part To my sons Mastin C,
E. Thomas and W. Russel to whom I have given money to make up a defect of
land and Tristram F. Hugh Milton, Robt J B/who shall pay back or account for in
division Shall severally have have such portion of my personal estate as shall
make their share equal that is Mastin C. E Thomas, and Wm. H Shall get the
amount given and then get an equal share with their brothers Tristram F, Hugh
Milton, and Robt J. B. Will have first to account back and then those amounts
are to be regarded as subject to division amongst all my heirs To My Grand
daughter Martha James White and my grand daughter Mary Susan Fore shall have
and/I give and bequeath them one share to share equal and alike //my with my
sons and allso to get in lieu of any lands Two hundred and Eighty four dollars
which shall be first considered paid to them and then for them to get one
share divided between them of the Two hundred and Eighty dollars first given
Martha James shall have Two hundred and fifty and then divided equal and alike
with her sister Mary Susan in the ballance and in the Share of my personal es-
tate left them
The lands Known as the M Cormic land containing one hundred and Seventy
nine acres my will is and I so demise that my Executors herin after named
shall sell and I Authorize them to make good and sufficient tittles to the same
and the proceed of the sale be devided amongst my heirs in the same way and
condition as my personal estate
And lastly I nominate and appoint my trusty friends Wm. S. Bethea Dr. A W.
Bethea Phillip M Hamer and Malcom Stafford as Commifsioners Under this Will
to divide my my negroes and other personal property amongt those to whom I
gave it so far as is practicble and to appraise the same and all such as can
not be divided must be sold to effect a division And I ordain and Constitute
my sons Mastin C Stackhouse E T. Stackhouse and //Wm /R //////////Stackhouse //my /////////executors
