WILL OF HENRY WILLIAMS
In The name of God, Amen. I Henry Williams of Marion District and State of
South Carolina, being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory do
make this my last will and testament in manner following.
1st. I give to my son Henry F. Williams my handmill.
2nd. I give to my son Richard G. Williams my negro man Moses on condition that
he pay my son Henry F. Williams eighty seven dollars and fifty cents, and to my
daughter Ann R. Williams the sum of eighty seven dollars and fifty cents; and to my
two grandchildren Wilson G. Williams and Elizabeth Ann Williams the sum of forty three
dollars and seventy-five cents each.
3rd. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann R. Williams all my household
and kitchen furniture, her mother's and her own bed and furniture, also her choice
of my horses, also it is my will that my executors here in after to be appointed do
soon after my death make a title to my daughter Ann R. Williams to the three following
tracts of land lying in Georgetown district, one of which contains one thousand acres
known by the name of Sampleses Mill, another containing four hundred and seventy-five
acres, also one other tract containing five hundred and thirty acres on Long Branch.
4th. I give to my grandson Wilson G. Williams one tract of land containing
nine hundred and thirty acres being in Georgetown district being the place where I
formerly lived, also one other tract containing three hundred and six acres being in
Marion district the place where Swain lived.
5th. I give to my granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Williams one tract of
land in Georgetown district containing seven hundred and eighty acres known by
the name of the Owens place. And I do hereby authorize my executors to make to
Wilson G. Williams a title to the two tracts given to him soon after my death,
but should my beforenamed granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Williams no return and claim
her tracts of land by the third day of Feb, one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight,
then in that case it is my will that my executors do make a title to the lands
before mentioned to my grandson William J. Williams. It is my further will that
my other horses and my working tools be divided between Henry F. Williams,
Richard G. Williams, and Wilson G. Williams share and share alike. It is my further
will that my beds and furniture and my Books, except my Family Bible, which I give
to my daughter Ann R. Williams, be divided between my three children Henry F. Williams,
Richard G. Williams, Ann R. Williams and my grandson Wilson G. Williams share
and share alike. It is my further will that my stock of cattle be divided
between my two children and two grandchildren in manner following - to my son
Richard G. Williams, I give one third part, to my daughter, Ann R. Williams,
I give one third part and the other third to be divided between my two grandchildren,
Wilson G. Williams and Elizabeth Ann Williams. It is my further will that my
stock of hogs and sheep be divided between my own three children share and share alike.
6th. Lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my children,
Henry F. Williams, Richard G. Williams executors and my daughter Ann R. Williams,
executrix to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all others made
by me heretofore, made in witness here of. I have here unto set my hand and seal
this eighth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three. Signed,
sealed, published and declared by this testator to be his last will and testament
in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence, and the presence of
each other have subscribed our names as Witness there to.
