In the name of God Amen
I Charles Windham of the/stateof South carolina Sumpter destrict planter being
in sound mind and health and undererstanding and memory thankes be to
almighty God fr his mercies do make this my last will and testament in
the following manner
1st It is my will and disire that my beloved wife Ruth Windham have the
use of all my Estate boath real and personal during her natural life
2 it is my will and disire that my negro man Jack be sold and the money
Eaqually divided between my four oaldest Childeren namely John, Elizabeth
Leahnora an Benjamins to them and the isue of ther boddys forevr
3 it is my will and desire that my youngest Son Neighbour C Windham have
the following Negroes namely Dick Mary and hester with all their futer
increas further it is my will and disire that said Neighbour C Windham have
all my land and plantation tools with my blacksmith tools and all my house-
hold and kitchen furniture and stock of Everry discription
4 it is my will and disere that if my son Neighbour dy with/out living ifsue
that all I have left him be eaqually divided betwen my Grandchildren share
and share alike
5 it is my will and disire that there be paid from the profits of my Es-
tate annually Ten dollars during my wife lifetime for the benefit of preach
ing at the Moria[?] church
and lastly I do appoit my dear wife Exertrix and my Son Neighbour Windham
Exerter of this my last will and testament in witnefs whereof I do set my 
hand and seals this the 15th day of Febury in the year our Lord one Thou-
san eightteen hundred and thurty eight Signed sealed and published by the
above named Charles Windham in presence of us who have at his requet hve
subscribed our [?] names witnefs to this last will and testament
