Jesse AMMONS to Eli THOMAS 1823

Know all men by these presents that I, JESSE AMMONS of Marlborough District in the State aforesaid planter. In consideration of five hundred and forty two dollars to me paid by ELI THOMAS of the said place aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said Eli Thomas a certain tract or parcel of land in the district aforesaid containing one hundred and thirty acres an half more or less it being part of a tract of 150 acres which was granted to John Smith past the 26th day of July 1774. and was conveyed to Joshua Ammons and by the said Joshua Ammons conveyed to me the first day of November that part now sold and conveyed is land of from the other part of the Tract as follows (viz)
Begining on a stake 3x on a dividing line between my father and myself near a path runing S.W. 251/2 % 12.50 to a stake 3x on the original line thence S E 45.60.78 to a stake 3x on the said original line, at the edge of the boggy Gully, thence up the edge of the said gully, the various courses thereof about N E 23.32.80 to a lightwood post 3x thence NW 64 1/4 56.00 with a line of new marked tree; to the beginning containing and laid out for one hundred and thirty and a half acres be the same more or less. Together with alI and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incedent to appertaining. To have and to hold all and singular the said premises unto the said Eli Thomas his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend the said land and premises unto the said Eli Thomas, his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs and against every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

Witness my hand and seal this sixteenth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and in the 48th year of the American Independence.

By John Donaldson one of the Jusices of the....... as the case may be do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Tiletha Ammons the wife of the withinnamed Jesse Ammons did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately examined by me, did declare that she does freely voluntarily and without any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named Eli Thomas his heirs and assignas all her interest and the estate and also all her right and claim of dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released Given under my hand this 31st day of December 1823.

Personally appeared Nathan B. Thomas before me and being duly sworn made oath that he saw Jesse Ammons sign seal and deliver the within deed to Eli Thomas for the use and purpose therein mentioned of that himself and Daniel Thomas witnessed the due Execution thereof
