THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
Know
all men by these presents That I Joel Bullard of Chesterfields County and State
of South Carolina planter in consideration of Ninety Dollars to me paid by
Thomas Quick of the County of Marlborough in the State aforesaid Planter has
Granted Bargained sold and released and by these presents do bargain Sell and
release unto the Said Thomas Quick all that parcel plantation or part of a
Tract of land containing two two hundred acres be the same more or less being
the one half of a Tract of four hundred acres Granted unto the said Josel
Bullard on the seventh Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven
hundred and Eighty Six which aforesaid Two hundred acres now bargained and sold
is the one half of the said Tract of four hundred acres Sold unto Aquilla Quick
to the North East or Job Broughtons land to the North west on vacant land at
the time of the original Survey but was Granted to James Newton lying and being
on the North East Side of Great Pee Dee River Marlborough County Cheraw
District and on Crooked creek Together with all and Singular the rights members
Heredetaments and Appertances to the said premises belonging or in any wise
Incident or appertaining TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the premises
before mentioned unto the said Thomas Quick his heirs and Afsigns forever AND I
do here by bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and
forever defend all and singular against myself and my heirs and against every
person whomsoever lawfully Claiming or to Claim the same or any part thereof
witness my hand and seal this third day of November in the year of our Lord one
thousand Seven hundred and ninety Eight and in the Twenty third year of the
Independence of the united States of America

Justices for said County personally appeared Robert Lide Junr who being Sworn
according to law Sayth that he saw Joel Bullard Sign Seal and as his act &
deed Deliver the within deed of conveyance to Thomas Quick and that he saw
William Brown with himself Subscirbe their names as witnesses to the Same Sworn
to before me this 26th day of Novr. 1798

I Thomas Powe one of the Judges of the County Court of Chesterfield
County Do hereby Certify unto all whom it may concern that Martha Bullard the
wife of the within named Joel Bullard did this day appear before me and upon
being privately and Seperately Examined by me did declare that She does freely
voluntarily and without any Compultion dread or fear of any person or persons
whomsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named Thomas
Quick his heirs and Afsigns all her interest and Estate and Also all her Right
and claim of Dower, of, in, or to, all and singular the premises within
mentioned and released,
Given under my hand and Seal this ninteenth day of February
