Know all men by these presents that I REECE LUKE of MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT
& State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Dollars to me
paid by James Feagin & Co. of the District & State aforesaid Have granted, Bargained,
Sold and released unto the said JAMES FEAGIN & CO. a Certain piece, parcel or 
dividend of land containing Forty eight acres be the same more or less, the same being
part of a tract of land Containing Threee Hundred Acres originally granted to Peter
Smith and by the said PETER SMITH it was conveyed to a MATTHEW DANIEL
and by the said Matthew Daniel it was conveyed to JOHN ODOM  and by the said
John Odom  it was conveyed to the aforesaid  REECE LUKE and JOSEPH JONES 
Jointly for ninety eight acres, it being part of the aforesaid tract of three Hundred acres
 the lines of Division Separating the aforesaid Ninety eight acres from the remainder 
of said Tract may fully appear by having reference to the Deed of Conveyance from
 the aforesaid John Odom to the said Reece Luke & Joseph Jones and by an agreement
between the said Reece & Joseph it is stipulated that the one half of the said ninety
eight acres, more or less, belonging to the said Reece Luke shall be laid off so as
to include the Houses and plantations whereon the said Reece Luke now lives situate,
lying, and being in the District and State aforesaid on the upper part of the Muddy 
Creek and on the River Swamp adjoining lands of JOHN LUKE, now MANDERVILLE,
DOCTOR BLYTHES  and Joseph Jones.  Together with all and singular the rights,
members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any
wise incident or appurtaining.  To Have & To Hold all & singular the aforesaid forty
eight acres of land, more or less, to the said James H. Feagin & Co., their heirs &
assigns forever and do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators
to warrant and forever defend all & Singular the said premises to the said James
Feagin & Co., their heirs and assigns forever;  against myself and my heirs and 
against every person whatsoever lawfully Claiming or to Claim the same or any
part thereof.

IN WITNESS whereof I have herein to set my hand and Seal this Twenty eighth
day of March in the Year of our Lord, One thousand and Eight hundred  & Seven
and in the 30th Year of the Independence of the United States of America.

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA  ]        Personally appeared before me 
MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT      ]         Charles McRae one of the Justices
assigned to Keep the peace in & for the District aforesaid, RICHARDSON
FEAGIN who being duly sworn saith on his oath that he did see the within
named Reece Luke sign, seal & deliver the within Instrument of Writing to
to the within named James Feagin & Co. for the use & purposes therein
mentioned and that he also saw DANIEL McLENNON sign his name as
another witness with himself to the same.
