The State of South Carolina
Know all men by these presents that I James Nicholson of Charleston, in the
State aforesaid, Gentleman in consideration of the sum of ten pounds sterling
to me paid by Moses Pearson of Marlboro County and the state of aforesaid have
Granted, Bargained, Sold and Released and by these present do Grant, Bargain, Sell
and Release unto said Moses Pearson all that plantation or tract of land containing
Four hundred twenty acres situated lying and being in the District of the Cheraws
in the N. East side of the Great Pee Dee on the South side of Three Creeks on the
Wolf Trap Branch bound to the S. West on Moses Pearson Esq. Land to the North West
on Benjamin Warrens land to the South East on Manual Cox Land and N. East on
William_____ land and vacant land. Together with All and Singular the Rights,
heriditaments and apparatances; to the said premises belonging or in any wise
Incident, or appertaining; to have and to hold All and Singular the premises
before mentioned unto Moses Pearson his heirs and assign forever. And this hereby
bind myself, my heirs, Executors, and Administrators to warrant and to forever
Defend All and Singular the said premises unto the said Moses Pearson, his heirs,
assigns against myself and my heirs or any person claiming the same or any part
thereof; Witness my hand and Seal, this twenty-ninth day of March in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and in the twenty-second year
of the Independence of the United States of America.
