Know all men by these presents, that we Moses Pearson and Preston Pearson, in consideration of one dollar to us in hand paid by James Galloway. Both parties of the said State and district and in consideration of the liability of the said Galloway on our account for the sum of five hundred dollars, have granted, bargained, sold and released, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sale and release unto the said James Galloway and a certain piece or dividend of land containing one hundred acres, situate, lying and being in the district and state aforesaid -- having for its boundary on the West, the Three Creeks or the lands of Joseph Dickson and wife; on the South and East, bounded by the lands of Laurence Prince commonly called the Big Plantation; and on the North bounded by a line to be ascertained by a line between the said Price and the lands of Z. A. Drake to run to the Three Creeks parallel with the land at the South; being the same land conveyed to us this day by the Z. A. Drake: Together with all and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging -- To Have and to Hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said James Galloway, his heirs and assigns forever. Now it is hereby understood and agreed Whereas the said James Galloway has this day became our surety in the purchase of the said tract of land on three notes the first dated November 16 A. D. 1850. For one hundred dollars, due first day of January 1851, with interest from date payable to Z. A. Drake or bearer; and two other notes of the same date and tenure,, each for the sum of two hundred dollars, the one due Jany first 1852, and the other due Jany first 1853. Now it is understood and agreed, that, if we the said Moses Pearson and the said Preston Pearson shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid the said sums of money and interest at the maturity of the said notes, then the above conveyance is to be void and of no effect -- otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. In testimony whereof, we have hereunto set my hand and seal, this sixteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty, and in the Seventy fifth year of American Independence (a line erased on the other side before signing. Personally appeared before me D. Matheson and made oath that he was present and saw the above named Moses and Preston Pearson, sign seal and deliver the above instrument of writing, for the interest and purposes therein mentioned, and that Jonathan Medlin subscribed his name as a witnessed to the same with himself.

I, F. J. Miles one of the Magistrates for said District, do hereby certify until all whom it may concern, that Sarah Pearson, wife of the within named Preston Pearson did this day appear before and upon being privately and separately examined before me did, declare, that she did freely and voluntarily, without any compulsion to read or fear of any person or persons whom so ever, renounce, release, and for ever relinquish unto the within named James Galloway, his heirs and assigns, all her interest and estate and also all her rights and claim of the Dower, of come in and to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released.
