This Indenture made this tenth day February in ye year of our Lord One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Eighty Sixth in the tenth year of American Independence between
Rodger Pouncey of the State of South Carolina and County of Marlborough of the one
part and Moses Pearson of the same place of the other part. Witnessed that the
said Rodger Pouncey for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds sterling
money to him in hand paid by the said Moses Pearson before the Ensealing and
Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof ye said Rodger Pouncey doth confess
and acknowledge hath granted bargained, sold, released, and confirmed, and the
said Rodger Pouncey for himself his heirs, Executors, and Administrators and
assigns doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell, release, and confirm unto
the said Moses Pearson and to his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or
parcel of land containing one hundred acres being part of a tract of two hundred
acres of land granted to John Hodges by Deed of Grant bearing date the twenty fourth
day of August one thousand seven hundred and seventy and being conveyed by Leas and
Release from the said John Hodges to Stephen Floyd and from Said Stephen Floyd to
Rodger Pouncey being situated in Marlborough County on the North side of Pee Dee River
and north east side of ye Three Creeks in the Welch Tract and butting and bounding to
the N. East and S. West by William Owens land and N. East and N. West by John Westfield
land laid out and granted to Nathaniel Buck and S. West by vacant land when said
land was granted and South and S. East by Three Creeks and the other part of said
Tract of land and hath such shape, forms and marks as appears by a Platte thereof
to ye said grant annexed to have and to hold the aforesaid plantation or tract of
land containing one hundred acres more or less what is on the North side of
Three Creeks together with all and singular the Rights, Titles, Privileges,
Improvements, and Appertences what so ever there unto belonging or in any wise
appertains unto the said Moses Pearson and to his heirs and assigns forever and
the said Rodger Pouncey for himself, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and
Assigns doth covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Moses Pearson that
the Rights and Titles of ye said land and the premises thereof. I do forever warrant
and defend unto ye said Moses Pearson from and Person or Persons what so ever claiming
or claim through from or under him ye said Rodger Pouncey in Witness where of the
said Rodger Pouncey have here unto set my hand affixed my seal the day and year above written.

South Carolina         Personally appeared before me Thomas Evans, one of the
Marlborough County     Justices of the County aforesaid Jain Jones who being duly sworn
on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God sayeth she was present and did see Rodger Pouncey
sign seal and deliver the within Instrument of Writing to Moses Pearson for the use and
purposes within mentioned and also saw him sign the receipt and did see Simeon Woodruff
and William Cherry sign their names as Witnesses with her to these presents.
