BIRTH RECORDS

EARLY BIRTH "RECORDS" (   - 1915)

Modern birth records (birth certificates) were not kept at the State level until 1 January 1915. Prior to 1915, researchers must rely on a variety of sources to determine dates of birth for their ancestors. These include Bible records, newspapers, church/parish records, diaries or journals, obituaries, tombstones, census records, etc.
