Marlboro County, SC
Deeds, Plats & Land Grants

Generally speaking, you will need to check at the South Carolina Department of Archives and History (SCDAH) for land records dating prior to 1786. While there are a few exceptions, the courthouse in Bennettsville holds Marlboro land records starting in 1786.

The deeds are indexed and cross-referenced by Grantor and by Grantee in volumes covering 1786 to 1922, 1923 to 1949, 1949 to 1984, and 1984 to present. ALL plat book indexes back to the 1700's, are available in a computer history file.
