Mary Cope Bowyer's obituary, newspaper unknown, probably Marlboro County, South Carolina, probably 11 September 1925, Obituary for Mrs. Mary W. Bowyer. The obituary had been taped into the Bible that had originally belonged to Mamie Bowyer Kanipe. The front piece of the Bible is covered up with a picture so it is impossible to get information about the Bible. There is no information about the obituary, no paper is identified and no date for the paper/obituary is found. Mary Stephens Scrudder took a photograph of the obituary July 2005.

Death of Mrs. William Bowyer

Mrs. Mary W. Bowyer, wife of William Bowytr, died at their home near Tatum last Friday at 5 P. M., after a long illness in her sixty-second year.

The funeral services were conducted by her pastor Rev. J. A. Campbell at Beauty Spot Cemetery at 10 a.m. Sunday. There were many beautiful floral tributes to the worth of this good woman, who was a faithful member of Tatum Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband, two brothers: J. C. Cope of Red Springs, and William Cope of Fayettevilleo by the following children: Willie, Bascom, Charlie, Edgar, Marlboro, Sam, and William Carrodine, Carrie Mae, Mrs. Naomi Greene, and Mrs. Allie Barrentine.
