Marlboro County, South Carolina
Samuel Driggers departed this life, Nov. 16, 1886 in Marlboro
Co., S. C., in the 63rd year of his age. Forty of these years were spent in
the Methodist Church. His life was noted for its quiet, peaceable and
Christian spirit. In his last affliction he often praised God aloud, and
seemed to be anxious to be freed from suffering here and enter the rest
above. He left a true and devoted wife and ten children to mourn their loss.
He was buried, amid a vast crowd, the Rev. T. C. O'Dell officiating at the
grave. A good man is gone from the Church militant to the Church triumphant.
